Panasonic’s super-telephoto zoom for the
LUMIX S lineup, reaching from 100mm to 500mm and supporting 1.4x and 2x
teleconverters for up to 1000mm focal length. It is designed for subjects at a
distance such as wildlife, motorsport and landscapes, while keeping the
handling familiar to L-Mount users.
The optical design uses 19 elements in 12 groups, including UED, ED and UHR glass, to maintain resolution across the range, while an 11-blade diaphragm helps produce smooth background blur. Image stabilization works with Dual I.S. 2, and autofocus is driven by a Dual Phase Linear Motor for precise, quiet operation. For video, the lens limits focus breathing and offers micro-step aperture control for steady exposure transitions.
